These terms apply when you use the Clever Legal website. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The website is operated by Witty Claims Pty Ltd (ACN 698 100 953) trading as Clever Legal, an incorporated legal practice in Victoria.
Liability is limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation.
2. No legal advice
The information on this website is general information only. It is not legal advice and you should not rely on it as advice for your situation. Laws change and how they apply depends on your circumstances.
3. No solicitor–client relationship
Using this website, reading its content, or sending us an enquiry or intake form does not create a solicitor–client relationship and does not mean we have agreed to act for you.
We only act for you once we have confirmed we can act (including completing any conflict and identity checks) and a costs agreement or engagement has been entered into. Until then, please do not assume your matter is being handled by us.
Time limits. Strict time limits (limitation periods) can apply to medical-negligence claims. Submitting this form does not pause, protect or extend any deadline. If a time limit may be approaching, get advice promptly.
4. Confidentiality of what you send us
We take confidentiality seriously. What you send through the intake form is emailed to the firm and is not stored on the website (see our Privacy Policy).
Even so, please do not send highly sensitive or privileged material until we have confirmed we can act for you. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure.
5. Acceptable use
When using the site, you agree not to:
- use it for any unlawful purpose, or to send unlawful, infringing or harmful content;
- upload files containing malware, or attempt to probe, scan or breach the site's security or the intake form;
- upload files other than the permitted types, or attempt to bypass the file checks, size or count limits; or
- misuse, disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the site.
We may decline, filter or remove submissions, and restrict access, to protect the site and the firm.
6. Intellectual property
The content on this website — including text, branding, the Clever Legal name and logo, layout and graphics — is owned by us or used with permission, and is protected by law. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy, reproduce, adapt or republish the site's content for any other purpose without our permission.
7. Links to other sites
The site may link to third-party websites for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time.

To the extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or its general content; and
- nothing on the site is a promise or guarantee of any particular outcome in any matter.

Our liability for the legal services we provide (once engaged) is dealt with in our costs agreement and is limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation.

Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and the collection notice shown on the intake form.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this website.
